All About John Valentine....almost

The Process

image31

I make primarily functional stoneware fired in an electric kiln to 2230 degrees F.  I make my own glazes (dishwasher/microwave safe).  Most pieces are wheel thrown, some are hand built.

The Works

My work is ever-evolving as I aim toward the perfect balance between function and form.  The right feel of a cup handle is important to the enjoyment of the beverage -- is it big enough, is it balanced -- every detail makes a difference to the overall integrity of the piece.

The Guy at the Wheel

I became fascinated with pottery in my 20s.  Over the years I've started and stopped many times as life took me in different directions.  More recently I have set up a studio to fulfill my dream of creating beautiful works for every day enjoyment.
